Why do a lot of people say they like "all kinds" of music of music when they really don't?
This intrigues me. "All kinds" of music would include sappy love songs, easy listening, and smooth jazz. I’m 26 and like soft rock/adult contemporary, love songs, R&B, smooth jazz, and Top 40. Usually when someone tells me they like "all kinds" of music, I ask, "does that include sappy love songs and easy listening music?" The answer is always no.
So these people are lying…they don’t like "all kinds"; they only like certain kinds of music. Why do they say "all kinds" when they don’t mean that?
