What's the main difference between baroque, classical, and romantic music ?

As in how do i tell if a piece of music is baroque, classical period or romantic era just by looking at it or hearing it ?
I need to know for a piano recital coming up where i have to pick 2 songs from each category, and i have no idea how to pick 2 songs when i dont even know what the words mean.
