what type of music is the theme song from friends?

I wanted to know what type of music is the theme song from friends, the song has this guitar sounds which gives me a feeling and a rush of memories from the early 90′s although the feeling is kind of distorted now since friends have been dragged all the way to the present day, there is a few songs that I know if I hear I will remember and I will be really happy to hear. They are some where in between the 80′s – 90′s with this guitar and trumpets sounds, is easy listening music, not so crazy .
