There is this one town that I know of, lots of minorities live there. Its a poor area. For entertainment they always are promoting hip hop dj’s , and gangster/pimp and ho themed parties.
Then there is this other town I know of. It is very affluent. Its filled with alot of older people with lots of money. The bars there which are referred to as lounges since they are more upscale always are having piano singers and jazz for entertainment.
Why do these towns choose such different choices of music and themes for their parties?

I really liked this song; it would be nice if someone could recommend me similar songs and singers or composers. I’d also like to know names of few violinists who compose similar music (easy listening).
Thanks in advance!

Hey there. I speak Italian to a level of 2 years study in highschool. Or perhaps i should say i ‘know’ Italian to a level of 2 years, as i have pretty much never talked with anyone in Italian.
I am looking to download some easy-listening Italian music to listen to when i go to sleep, but i don’t know where to start?
If you could reccomend any bands/singers, that would be much appreciated.
Grazie,
Giacomo

Johnny Cash is dead, (RIP buddy!), Waylon is dead (RIP also!), Merle Haggard is fighting cancer, and Willie Nelson is getting older and hopefully will live forever, but…
Who is going to take on country music? Will it be a lost genre like traditional easy listening (Frank Sinatra for example)? People can tell me country will be taken on by singers like "Taylor Swift" but she isn’t country at all. Country should be what it was founded on, not what people want it to be.
Will traditional country die? Or are there artists we don’t know about that are keeping it alive?

I am an experienced singer who loves to sing at piano bars with an "open mic" policy. By that, I mean those that allow singers to sing solo "on mic" to the accompaniment of the piano/keyboard player. I take "piano bar" vacations, so I’d be interested in these types of piano bars anywhere in the USA or Canada. I sing many different genres of songs: Blues, pop, country, jazz, Standards (big band and crooner era), Rock, Rock ballads, pretty ballads, show tunes, folk, etc.
In the upcoming 12 months, I’d especially like to know of open mic piano bars in:
Chicago
Seattle
Fort Lauderdale / Miami area
Thanks!

An OPEN MIC piano bar allows customer/singers to sing solo on microphone to the accompaniment of a professional piano or keyboard player.

When I go to most cd stores most of my music is in "easy listenin" including jazz. What is meant by easy listening? Do people feel that this music is very easy to play? Even these jazz bands that backed singers I find nothing easy in their playing. Or is it just me, getting too old?

I’m looking for bands / singers that use the piano, guitar and maybe violin primarily with a bit of drumming. Hopefully you can understand what sort of music i’m looking for by that! I absolutely love, The Rocket Summer, Jose Vanders (seriously recommend), Gregory and the Hawk, Adele, The Fratellis lot’s more but I hope you get my drift. I constantly look on myspace and such for new bands but I can’t get over how people find really amazing bands randomly and I can’t get any anywhere! Thanks so much.
