I’m just curious as to how many of you on Y!A find that listening to music while you answer questions makes it easier or more enjoyable.
Just personally, I like to listen to classical music to calm my mind.

I do my homework listening to music that I don’t understand the languages. I was wondering if you think you are more concentrated than listening to music with lyrics you understand? I also, listen to classical music, but let’s put that aside.
Thanks!
Well, I changed it up, yes. Sometimes I listen to radios on iTunes and other times I just make a playlist of a bunch of songs I know. I think you’re right, though, the main thing is to prevent yourself from singing or craving to grab my instruments a jam to the song. haha

The responses for my last question inspired me a new one: when listening to classical music, what is more important, our "musical knowledge" (I mean, our ability to "understand" the musical theory that is being used) or only our feelings (our capability to feel something)? Perhaps the answer might be easier with classical authors, but for example, do we enjoy Schoenberg (or more radical composers) because our "head" or only beacause of our "heart"?

People tell me that I have a unique sound and love listening to me and they assume I’m always listening to music by Pierre Fournier or Piatigorsky but I only listen to something once and the style is easy to make my own. Listening assignments are hard to do for me because I get upset when I listen to any classical music or the cell by itself. It’s like an inner rage. What is this? Do any of the other musicians out there get this feeling too?

Hey (… I’m new)
I’m on the look out for some new artists / bands / albums / tracks to add to my ever expanding library, and was hoping for some suggestions.
I have a fairly wide range of taste. My interests are mainly in Rock, 60′s/70′s/90′s Brit-pop, Old School Rap, Ska, Reggae, and Classical music.
Suggestions don’t NEED to be confined to these genre’s though (still welcome), so just put any suggestions you have down, be it from Motown to Film Scores, Country to Hip-Hop, Sub-Saharan African to Dub-step, World music to Pop music, Easy Listening to Jazz… etc. Or anything, even if is just utterly crazy.
If there is a particular track or album worth listening to, please don’t be afraid to specify so i can indulge in the best of your suggestions.
Much appreciated, and i look forward to what you guys have to offer!

I know it’s easy with classical music, but what about the rest?

I really need a slow classical/piano piece of music for a drama GCSE scene for a flashback of an explosion, much like Ludovico Einaudi : ‘Ritornare’ but obviously not that!
thanks! I need it more modern classical to the older classical music if that makes sense!

I will be starting a paper round soon, and it will probably take around three hours. So I was wondering if anyone knew any good music to listen to? I mostly like classical music, such as I Giorni and Cannon in D. Thanks for any advice

I’ve heard that the US military has used loud rock n roll to make POWs crack, Scientific studies have shown that listening to classical music helps you think/learn, and for some reason I can’t help but be happy when I listen to ska.
What do you think or know about this?
